Two crazy foxes in a hot air balloon,
They like to go shopping on a Sunday afternoon,
So up, up, up in the balloon they fly,
Quickly up to the bright blue sky.
They hop over traffic, fields and trees,
And land at the supermarket, cool as you please.
Jasper Fox reads the shopping list,
Making sure there is nothing they missed
While Jennifer, his wife, eyes the view.
She wants a smooth landing, with nothign askew.
What a crazy way to get the chores done,
But Jasper and Jennifer, always have fun!

I've been enjoying the lovely mild weather and the spring-time blooms to have lots of iced tea and picnics. I painted these two enjoying the lovely spring weather in a field.

Inspired by Doisneau's famous photograph of the same name, I painted these musicians on a rainy day in London.
It's raining, it's chilly, the streets are gray
Despite the lousy weather, it's still a busy day.
Rush hour in the city, waiting for a cab,
Going home from work, the weater is so drab.
Rex the raccoon is a generous fella,
He lets Burt the fox, share his umbrella.
Felicity fox needs to keep her cello dry,
"My fur is getting wet", you will hear her sigh.
Basil the brown bear doesn't enjoy the rain,
He watches the water speeding down the drain.
Trying to protect his newspaper from the storm
So he can read it at home, where it's dry and warm.
Randy the fox wears his determined face,
He has to hold on tight to his sales briefcase.
So many creatures are caught out in the rain,
But it won't be long 'til the sun comes out again.

I've started a mini series of Cats in a photobooth inspired by so many wonderful vintage photobooth photos.
I painted this in black, silver and white on kraft paper. I love painting on kraft paper because the texture is different than regular watercolor paper.
Here are a few of my favorites inspired by real photobooth portraits.

I've been enjoying the snowy weather staying inside and painting this. My mum wrote a poem based on the sketch a few months ago and I'm finally getting around to painting it.

These are the other three constellation paintings in this series. I will likely finish out the series with another few here and there.
Felis Major the Cat playing Piano, another one that's no longer recognized.
Ursa Major, the bear playing violin. Don't mind his bad posture, he's fiddlin' away.
Lepus Major, a hare playing ukulele and tambourine.
The other two are Noctua - the owl and Vulpecula - the fox. I've just listed these in the shop with a few other prints.
I mentioned the other day I had plans to make this a really productive year. In past years I always find myself with tonnes of ideas for paintings but little time to make them happen. This year, I'm making time to paint and draw every day. I've got a really long and exciting poem to share tomorrow, so check back to see that soon.
